House of Boom in Middletown

Get ready for some real family fun! 

House of Boom, a trampoline park, recently opened in Middletown. It's near the Gene Snyder Freeway, which is not far from Shelby County. There are over 60 trampolines lining the floor, and even some angled wall trampolines! They have an area for dodge ball, basketball, obstacle course areas, foam block pits, and even a special area for children 6 and under! There is something for every member of your family. They also have an upstairs viewing area, complete with couches, bar stools, and large televisions. My family and I had so much fun. We can't wait to go back!

Pricing:
1 hour flight ticket $12
2 hour flight ticket $20
*Children 6 and under are $8 for 1 hour, $15 for 2 hours
*Children under 2 are free with adult ticket purchase

Kid Jump- Every Monday through Saturday from 9am-10am is Kid Jump. Kids 6 and under can jump for $8 and the accompanying adult jumps FREE!

Family Night- Every Monday from 6pm-9pm is Family Night. The whole family can jump for $35! What a deal!

Club Boom (15 years old and up)- Every Friday and Saturday night from 9pm-12am the lights go out and the lasers are turned on. Price is $12/hour.

Summer Music in Shelby County!

Shelby County Life Magazine is sponsoring a concert at the Shelby County Fair this Saturday, June 20, at 8pm. New Breed will perform at the Shelby County Fair Pavilion. Concert is free with fair admission ($5 before 4pm, $10 after 4pm).

The band Better Daze will perform at Shake the Lake on July 4. The event at Clear Creek Amphitheater will start around 5:30, but the music will begin around 7. The head of the band is Danny Finnell, from Shelbyville.

There will also be music July 4th at Simpsonville's Red, White, and Boom festival.

Simponsville has a new Summer Permforming Arts Series that starts July 4. The series will showcase local and regional talent at Wiche Park (7026 Shelbyville Road). The series will continue throughout the summer. See the list of musicians, dates, and times here!

The Waddy Summer Concert Series at Waddy Baptist Church will be July 10, August 7, and September 4 at the church picnic shelter. This is a free event that begins at 7pm. Get your singing voices ready because the second part of each concert will be open to anyone who wants to perform on stage (bring your own instrument). For more info call 502-513-8100.

5th Annual Rob Fest will be July 17 and 18 at the Clear Creek Amphitheater (Shelbyville). Cost is $5 (children under 12 free). Live music, food, silent auction, vendors.

The Shelbyville Development Corporation is having a fun Street Party Concert on July 25. The concert will be in Downtown Shelbyville on Main Street at 7pm and feature JD Shelburne! They will have another concert on August 22 and October 3.

All Things Music in Shelbyville will host 6th Street Live on select dates throughout the year. The next one is this Saturday, June 20, at 6:30pm! Powell & Plague 9 will perform.

2015 Shelby County Fair

The 153rd Shelby County Fair is here! There are so many fun activities for everyone in the family to enjoy....horse show, car show, livestock, pageants, carnival rides, yummy fair food, and more! It all happens at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbyville (1513 Midland Trail)!

June 10-13 Horse Show, 7pm-10pm each night
Show will feature Roadster Ponies, Parisians, Saddlebreds, and Hackney Ponies. $5 per person.

June 13 Car Show, 10am-2pm
Event includes DJ, 50/50, cake walk, food/drinks. Cost is $5 per person gate admission.

June 15-20 Carnival Rides, 4H livestock shows, pageants, exhibits, & more!
Admission is $5/person, children 10 and under FREE! Admission on Friday & Saturday after 4pm is $10/person. Rides cost extra!
*The Ky State Fair mascot, Fairbear and Fairabear, will be at the Shelby County Fair on June 19 at 5:30 for meet & greets and photos!

Mulberry Orchard- This family farm in Shelbyville is the perfect place to have an outdoor birthday party. A $50 fee includes a portion of the covered pavilion with picnic tables. Guests can play on the large play area that includes a slide, swings, large tires, and a tunnel. In the Fall, your party could also include a hayride to the pumpkin patch and fun in the corn maze. In the off season and cooler months, you can rent out the market area. Outside food is allowed, but Mulberry Orchard has wonderful food and dessert catering options. Arby's will begin fundraising on June 1 to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana! The fundraising event will run through July 26. 

It's easy! When you give $1 to help support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana, you get a $1 coupon from Arby's! All of the money raised at the Shelby County Arby's will STAY in Shelby County! 

Last year, the Arby's in Shelbyville raised $10,000! Way to go! Let's see if we can match, or beat, that amount this year!
