7 FREE events in Shelby County this December

Everyone loves FREE! Here's a few of our favorite FREE activities going on this month in Shelby County!

December 2 from 5-7 pm.
This class is free, but they do ask that you bring your own 16X20 canvas. Everything else, including step-by-step instructions and paint, is included. This class does require registration in advanced and is limited to 20 people. Call 633-3803 to see if there's still room. This month's painting is a personalized Christmas ornament picture!

First Saturday Walk About
December 5, 8:30-9 am
Head over to the Clear Creek Park Family Activity Center the first Saturday of the month for their monthly walk about session. Burn off some of those unwanted Thanksgiving pounds or just walk for fun! Not only is the walk free, but all participants get a FREE day pass to the FAC! I'm thinking indoor swimming fun :) If it's cold, rainy, or snowy they walk indoors!

Shelby County Christmas Parade
December 5, 10 am
Bring the family down to Main Street to enjoy a family friendly parade!

A Night in Bethlemhem: Drive Thru Nativity
December 5, 6-8 pm at Shelbyville First Baptist Church
Jump in the car and head over to Shelbyville First Baptist Church to view and hear the narration of the Christmas story. There will be over 100 live performers and animals. Free hot chocolate and cookies while supplies last!

Christmas at the Library
December 6, 1-3:30
Lots of fun Christmas activities for the family! Kids can get their picture taken with Santa, write letters to Santa, send Christmas cards to veterans, enjoy refreshments and holiday music, listen to Christmas stories, and more!

Lowe's Build and Grow
December 12, 10 am
Great time for dad (or mom) to bond with the kids while creating a free wooden project at Lowe's. This month is an adorable Christmas train engine. Register online here.

Stroller Strides
Don't let the cold winter months keep you from exercising! Bring your youngster, a stroller, and head over to Stroller Strides new indoor winter meeting spots (Oxmoor Mall and Babies R Us). They're not in Shelby County, but still not too far, especially for those like me who travel to Louisville several times a week anyway. In the warmer months they meet at the Parklands, which is even closer to Shelby County! They even met at Mulberry Farm for a free family workout a few weeks ago! Your first week of Stroller Strides is FREE! Plus, you don't have to be a member to be a part of their play dates! Check out more info by following them on Facebook here!

Frugal family fun at its finest!
