Derby in Shelby County

 It's Derby time in Kentucky!

My family and I browsed Main Street this past weekend and found several local shops with Derby items. The Typsy Gypsy had cute signs, hand towels, magnets, jewelry, shirts, and candy to make any Derby party complete. We picked up a Mint Julep Twinkie! My daughter really wanted the horse poop (chocolate covered raisins)!

We then stopped at the Paisley Pig and admired all the antiques. They had a nice Derby area set up in their window, and then we saw many Derby glasses, Louisville Stoneware Derby themed items, pictures, jockey bobble heads, and other horse inspired items.

We didn't go into The Polkadotted Pineapple Boutique, but we saw many beautiful hats in the window that would be perfect for the big race! They also have dresses if you haven't found the perfect one yet.

The last place we went was Reclaimed on Main. They had Derby glasses and pictures, but also had the cutest chair with race horses on it! Loved it!

The Bell House Restaurant is having a Derby Dinner May 5-7. Call for reservations or more info. Yum!

Speaking of horses.....Don't forget about our Horse Back Riding Lessons post. You can also take a Saddlebread Horse Farm Tour! Tours only available by appointment. Call 651-248-2027 for more info.

Have an enjoyable Derby! Go Baby Go!
