Taqueria Tsunami is a sit down restaurant located at The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass in Simpsonville. The food is Latin-Asian inspired, and the menu offers a variety of appetizers, tacos, salads, and cocktails. I must admit, I was a little hesitant to try this place because I stick to chicken fingers and fries whenever I go out, but I'm so glad I went outside my comfort zone. I have tried nearly half of the tacos on their menu, and they have all been very good. I love the Gringo taco (seasoned beef, queso, lettuce, pico) and the Thai Chicken taco (grilled teriyaki chicken, cilantro, cabbage, carrots, sesame seeds, and peanut dressing). The Asian nachos are a favorite of mine as well. Check out the other items on their menu here.
We usually go to Taqueria Tsunami on a Tuesday because kids eat free! My girls love the tator tot side that come with queso dip, mmmmmm! We enjoy sitting outside on their covered patio area. It was a great spot during the Summer Shop, Bop, and Island Hop event. We were able to enjoy great music while we ate.
I also love that this restaurant helps give back to the community and victims of natural disasters. They have already helped Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana.
The food is excellent, we've always had fast, friendly service, and they help give back to Shelby County. Next time you're at the Outlet Shoppes, I highly recommend you stop by and try it out.
