Heartland Music Together is a music program designed for children birth through age four. It's an engaging class full of singing, dancing, and playing instruments. The classes are small, with 6 to 10 children, and their caregivers. It's a very fun and relaxed class, where children are free to roam about the circle if needed, and no one is forced to sing a solo. I'm a quiet person, and not musical in any way, but I never once felt out of place or scared to attend class with my daughters. I think I look forward to it just as much as they do. Classes meet once a week for 45 minutes. There is a Spring, Fall, and Winter session that runs for 10 weeks, and a summer session that runs for 6 weeks. With each session comes a new collection of songs and a new songbook and CD for you to take home. We listen to our music class CDs every time we're in the car! The girls love singing along!

photo 20140331_110553_zpsaim6h8vo.jpgI enrolled my four year old daughter when she was just 8 months old, and we have completed the entire three year curriculum. I am now taking my one year old daughter.  The class is very engaging and developmentally appropriate for all the children enrolled. Whether it be an eight month old exploring the instruments or a three year old helping to come up with extra verses to the song, everyone is having fun and involved.

We had been attending classes in Louisville, and were so excited when we heard they were going to have a class in Shelbyville. The class in Shelbyville meets on Friday mornings at 10:30 at St. James Episcopal Church on Main Street. There are several different Music Together teachers, but this particular class is taught by Mr. Dave. My girls love Mr. Dave's energetic, caring, and silly personality. The class in Shelbyville has been a little smaller than some of the other classes we've been enrolled in, but it is still a very fun and lively class.

If you would like to know more about Heartland Music Together, come try a demo class. This is a great way to see what the classes are all about, get any questions you have answered, and get a free CD of their songs.
